Shenandoah Yoga is inviting you to join in a community yoga class.
Come solo or bring a friend or family member.
Our special yoga class will be held in honor of the coming spring equinox. Think spring!
Classes will be multi-level - beginner & experienced students welcome.
The class is free to new & existing students.
Donations of cash or non-perishable food will be accepted and passed 100% to feed needy members of the local community.

Yoga Class for Girls
Shenandoah Yoga, Harrisonburg, Virginia, starting January 22, 2007
Our special series of yoga classes is being offered again for girls this New Year on Tuesdays from 6:45 to 7:45 PM (for six weeks). Introduce your daughter, niece, grand daughter or young girl friends to yoga in a fun and supportive environment where she can try it with peers.
Yoga can help girls
Improve concentration & stimulate creativity
Increase flexibility, strength, balance & co-ordination
Foster a sense of well-being and calmness
Reduce depression, anxiety & anger
Increase confidence, self-discipline & self acceptance
Classes will run for 6 weeks on January 22 and 29; February 5, 19, 26; and March 4 (with make-up class March 11 & no class February 12). Recommended ages: 11 to 14 (middle school or up; ages are negotiable). Class size limited to 10 girls. Cost: $42.

JMU Mountain Bike Class Tries Yoga

JMU's fall semester mountain biking class got a taste of yoga and how it can be beneficial to mountain bikers and other athletes. Director Sue George led students through a vinyasa style class. Yoga helps athletes improve strength, flexibility and balance and teaches self-discipline and concentration.

Special Guest Teacher: Patty Kearney

Thursday's early evening class will be taught by a special guest, Patty Kearney. Patty is a Registered Yoga Teacher (RYT) at the 500 hour level, and she's also completed the 1,000 hour professional yoga therapist training program. Even if you are not a Thursday early evening class regular, come drop in and share the experience. This class will be a multi-level class. All levels of students are welcome!

New Year's Day Yoga Class
Shenandoah Yoga, Harrisonburg, Virginia, January 1, 2008, 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM
Come start your 2008 off on a positive note with this special two-hour New Year's Day class. The New Year is a great time or renew or continue your commitment to yoga, and a two-hour class will give you plenty of time to get into your practice. Class will feature a mix of asanas (poses), pranayama (attention to breath) and meditation.
Some yoga experience is strongly recommended for attending students (Note: Beginners are encouraged to attend any of our Monday Level I classes to gain experience.)
Pre-registration welcome, but not required. Drop-ins will be accepted on first-come, first-served basis. Regular class rates apply.

Women's Yoga & Mountain Biking Weekend
Slatyfork, West Virginia, June 14-17, 2007
Do you want to improve or refine your trail skills? Would you like to learn technique from one of the world's top professional female mountain bikers?
Sign up for the Slatyfork Women's Weekend, guided by nationally-ranked, Trek pro racer Sue Haywood and Athens Bicycle shop owner Meredith Erlewine. The event will take place at Elk River Inn & Restaurant.
New for this year is yoga instruction by Shenandoah Yoga's Sue George, owner of Shenandoah Yoga in Harrisonburg, Virginia. Not only is Sue a Registered Yoga Teacher, but she's a former member of the U.S. National Cycling Team and an avid mountain bike racer and rider.
Additionally, a massage therapist will be on hand for those who wish to schedule an appointment. And, Trek's Fit for Women Tour will be making a stop at Elk River during the weekend, with a van full of demo bikes for participants to try.
Treat yourself to an incredible weekend featuring lush, Eastern singletrack trails. You'll get:
Instruction on trail skills and riding technique
Opportunities to practice skills including climbing, descending, dabbing, platforming, and riding over logs, rocks and bridges
