
Sue George, Registered Yoga Teacher (RYT), is the founder and director of Shenandoah Yoga. She began studying yoga in 2000 to facilitate recovery from a sports-related knee injury. A dedicated practitioner of Vinyasa yoga, Sue has also studied Ashtanga and Iyengar branches of Hatha yoga. She is a graduate of Yoga Source's 200 hour Yoga Alliance teacher training program and has completed additional specialized Pre-natal yoga teacher training. She has practiced diverse styles of yoga including also Kripalu and Jivamukti under many teachers in places like New Zealand, Montana, Pennsylvania, Vermont, Tennessee, and Virginia.
An avid cyclist for more than 20 years and former member of the US National Cycling Team, Sue's specialty is teaching athletes, but she enjoys the chance to share yoga with everyone who wants to learn. She believes yoga should be fun and is good for the body, mind, and spirit. Sue resides in Harrisonburg, Virginia.
Patricia Kearney, certified Yoga Therapist, has completed the 1,000 hour professional yoga therapist training program of Integrative Yoga Therapy. She is also a Registered Yoga Teacher (RTY) through Yoga Alliance at the 500 hour level. She holds Master's Degrees in Community Health and in Dance, and Bachelor's Degrees in Psychology and in Theatre. In addition, she has three certifications from the American Council on Exercise: Personal Trainer, Group Fitness Instructor, and Lifestyle and Weight Management Consultant. She has been practicing yoga since her early teens, has been a teacher for over 10 years, and is a member of the International Association of Yoga Therapists.
Veronica Whalen began studying yoga in 2004, shortly after moving to the Shenandoah Valley. She has practiced a variety of styles with several instructors. Veronica is currently pursuing her Registered Yoga Teacher (RYT) certification. In addition to studying yoga, Veronica has a BS in Exercise Science, a MS in Health Sciences, and is certified by the American College of Sports Medicine and the Aerobics and Fitness Association of America.
After teaching group fitness for seven years, Veronica believes yoga brings an important balance to any fitness program and enhances personal well-being. She enjoys teaching all types of individuals and has extensive experience teaching seniors. She loves to visit yoga studios when traveling so she can experience diverse teaching styles.
